Experience
Shadow Intelligence comes from real operating experience: building competitive intelligence inside a SaaS company and watching leadership decisions change once the market picture became clearer.
My journey in competitive intelligence began when I built a competitive intelligence department from scratch at a successful pharmaceutical software company. Management originally described our company as one without any real competitors within the niche.
I pitched a solo project constructing an intelligence department and process in my after-work hours. Soon I was giving weekly debriefs on competitor activity nobody had been watching.
Executives that once thought we were operating alone within our niche were now factoring intelligence I had gathered into every strategic decision.
That experience shaped the premise behind Shadow Intelligence: SaaS teams deserve competitive intelligence that is built from real operating pressure, not theory.

Operating Principles
The point is not to make competitive information louder. The point is to make it useful enough for decisions your team already has to make.
Technology supports monitoring. Strategic interpretation stays with a person.
Work is grounded in legitimate, defensible information practices.
Competitive priorities, briefings, and operating models stay private to each engagement.
The function is designed to reduce noise.
